Behavioral Health Addiction Recovery Certificate

Program Description

The Addiction Recovery Assistant micro-credential ensures students have the knowledge of addiction treatment and recovery support positions through a strength-based model. The curriculum includes the required course credits for the Certified Addiction Technician Certification as well as coursework focused on socio-emotional skills and knowledge. Addiction technicians are equipped with skills and competencies from this pathway that include:

  1. Empathy and Rapport Building through Entry-Level Counseling Skills
  2. Foundational Knowledge of Addiction and Strength-Based Recovery
  3. Exceptional Interpersonal Communication Skills and Entry-Level Counseling Skills
  4. Legal, Professional, and Ethical Considerations in Behavioral Health
  5. Understanding of Foundational Aspects of Psychology and Human Behavior
  6. CPR and Assessment of Basic Vital Signs
  7. Understanding of Behavioral Health and Healthcare Systems

This micro-credential/certificate will stack to the Behavioral Health: Addiction Recovery AAS .
