Program Description
The Solar Photovoltaic Installation Certificate Program provides the student with knowledge and essential skills to successfully install PV panels. Program competencies are aligned with the NABCEP Photovoltaic Associate Credential. NABCEP is the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, a nationally recognized credentialing body. Students will learn about safety, racking systems, and the installation of electrical and energy storage components. They will then learn how to inspect, test, and start the system. This is called Commissioning the system. Students will then prepare for the certification exam by reviewing concepts and applying the technical skills in an internship setting.
Career Options
The Certificate in Solar Photovoltaic Installation prepares you for a career as a PV Solar System Installer or an Alternative Energy Maintenance Technician.
