Formerly PSY 265 Examines the structure, function, and development of personality. Investigates the major contemporary theories of personality. Covers psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive-social learning, humanistic, trait, and, optionally, neurobiological, existential, and/or Eastern, perspectives. The underlying assumptions and research support for these theories are appraised. Enables the student to gain an appreciation of the value of alternative theoretical approaches to this subfield of psychology.
